UK women prefer sex to flowers on Valentine’s Day

For all those guys stressing out about what kind of last minute flowers to get their partners on Valentine’s Day; there is some great news. A recent poll from Play Kinky has shown that more women would prefer to have sex on that special night than receive flowers. That’s right, fellas; no need to go through the hassle of digging through the left over flowers when you can go home and climb right into bed. Of course, Play Kinky is a lingerie and sex toy company so their findings might be a tiny bit biased.

You also have to realize that the results were beyond being a little close with 28% of women looking for sex and 26% preferring to have flowers. Now, this doesn’t even come close to the fact that 53% of men in the poll would prefer a night in bed versus dining out for Valentine’s Day. But then, who wouldn’t prefer to stay in for a romantic night when you consider Valentine’s Day is the second busiest restaurant day in existence? Still, it seems that an emotional commitment is gaining ground over an impersonal gift, and that isn’t too bad.

One of the biggest surprises to come from this poll is the age range of the people participating. Once you realize that 30% of those aged 55 to 64 preferred a romantic evening in the bedroom and 37% for married couples; you can see that sex isn’t just for the single youngsters in the world anymore. This is especially true for those that have been married for a long time as 59% think they are with the best lovers they have ever had in their entire lives. It just goes to show you that even on special occasions like Valentine’s Day, there are no rules in how you should experience it.

Obviously, you shouldn’t think that just because 28% of women in this poll preferred sex to flowers that you shouldn’t at least attempt to get her a nice gift. You can almost guarantee that if 28% preferred sex then at least 50% would prefer sex after getting something special for this one day of the year. Imagine how great it would be in the bedroom if you did find her that one thing she has always wanted, or at least something that showed her how romantic you can be at the right moment.

Women love the emotional connection that they can get at this time of the year and, when it goes their way, they are much more likely to take things to the bedroom at the end of the night. Although there are some women that would prefer to start things off in the bedroom and then go out for dinner later on. Either way you look at it, though, you still have to do your part to show her that you think she is the ultimate love in your life.

If you do think that your prospective partner would prefer to jump in the sack rather than receive a bouquet of flowers, you might want to think about what you are actually giving up first. You should also consider the ramifications of assuming that the woman you are with would rather be in the bedroom for this night rather than being shown the time of her life. It may seem like a good trade off to you, but she might not agree with that conclusion like you might hope. Either way, do what you need to do in order to make her happy and you will definitely get a chance to have some extracurricular activity of your own.
